Clayarters :

I read with great interest the ^ 6 oxidation glazes that are submitted. I've
tried numerous recipes with mostly good results.

Those on the list interested in a khaki red glaze may want try the one I've
had the most success with, Wild Rose Tenmoku. I've tried Ketchup red,
Randy's red, and various other red browns but WRT is IMHO the best
color and texture. I received this glaze from a former student and dear
friend, Bill Newman. Its from the LSU Studio Notebook in Gibby Gibson's
section of glazes. Bill is finishing up his BFA at LSU (what an
outstanding program! Kudos to Mr. Silverman and Ms. Blacklock). The
glaze is as follows :

Gibby's Wild Rose Tenmoku (altered from John Chalke) ^ 6 ox ^7 in sitter

Lithium Carb 10.5
Bone Ash 10.5
Neph Sy 61.5
Tile 6 Kaolin 17.5 (I use EPK)

Add:
Red Iron Oxide 10.5 %

This is a beautiful oxidation glaze. Very similar to Ohato Khaki ^10
reduction glaze. It proves Phil Rogers' observation in his book "Ash
Glazes" when he described Yasuda Takeshi's work "...oxidation firing
need not be a barrier to rich and exciting surfaces." Good luck!
