adding a vent to my electric kiln-bailey version...

I bought the Bailey version. I can say that it works just fine...I did
not like drilling holes into the kiln, but after the first firing I could
really see a difference in my glazes. The colors did seem more true. I
would assume that this would mean a better oxidation flow throughout the
kiln.

The drawback of the hole Bailey system was the installation. You will need
a partner to help you hold everything in place while you screw in the
appropraite areas. The nuts and bolts that came with the system did not
fit together, the dryer attatchment I could have bought for half price at
Ace Hardware, and Bailey shipped all the pieces separately in 3 boxes in
which I only received 2 boxes the first delivery and the other box 5 days
later. This was very annoying. All three boxes could have fit in one
meduim sized box.

Even though it was a little trouble, it was worth it in the end. So when
I purchase a new kiln I will be able to transfer the pieces to the new
kiln.

Good luck in your decision!
