The National Museum of African Art is sponsoring a series of free programs in A
pril, May and June. The first of these will be on Saturday, April 12, 1997
Meet the Artist: Madgalene Odundu (10 a.m. - noon)
Madgalene Odundo, the contemporary ceramic artist from Kenya (know living in Lo
ndon), demonstrates and discusses her approach to creating ceramic vessels. Th
e museum will open at 9:30 a.m. to admit auidneces for the pottery demonstratio
n.
Lecture: Marla Berns (3 P.M.)
Marla Berns - director of the University Museum of Art, University of Californi
a, Santa Barbara -- presents a slide -illustrated lecturee on the diversity of
ceramic arts.
