Hello fello Clayarters,
I am a potter who just moved to Albuquerque from Columbia, MO, am
trying to find a place where I can make some pots to take to the Wood Fire
conference in Flagstaff, AZ this July. I am willing to pay or work for some
clay and space, and I only want to bisque the pots. If you are willing to
sacrifice a little space for me, than please email me back or call me. I am
having clay withdrawls and just need to make some small pots to help fill
the kilns.
Thanks!

The Associated Students of the University of New Mexico run a Crafts
Studio. Wheels, kilns, clay, glazes etc along with Photography
developing darkroom and jewelery equipment. I believe it is $15 a
semester if you are not a University student...$7.50 if you are.
They sell clay and kiln space very cheaply once you join.
Located in the Student Union Building in the Basement. the phone number
is 277-6544 or call my office at 277-5528 (Executive office of ASUNM, I'm
the office manager).
I would share my studio but right now its a mess (again) and I'm spending
time up north at my cabin on the weekends. One day we will have a wood
burning kiln up there.
Stop by and say hello if you come by the University....second floor of
the Student Union Building.

We are going to New Mexico in a couple of weeks and would like to see some
local pots. It is not exclusively a "pottery tour" ( we are visiting some
friends in Farmington as well) so I would like to know where to go if you
only have a short time. We will be in Albuquerque for about 3 days .
Galleries? Potters? Exhibits? Anything around from 2/22-2/27.
Thanks

Susan,
I'm forwarding your e-mail to Judy Nelson of the New Mexico Potters Association asking her to help you. Make sure you visit the Old Town and the Indian Institute.
Good luck and enjoy NM.
