I am currently seeking an apprenticeship in ceramic sculpture for the
summer of 1997. I am creative, motivated, and a quick learner. I have
some experience in sculpture, handbuilding, and wheelthrowing. I am
seeking a situation in a small beautiful place (preferably intentional
community, farm, or large private property, i.e.non-urban). I would
like to develop my skills and also have some time to work on my own art.
If you are seking an apprentice or know of someone who is, please
contact me at mailing address: E.G./ 1500 Broadway/ Santa Cruz, CA 95062
(no E-mail address, sorry.)

I am seeking a long term apprenticeship with a wood or salt or soda firing
potter with a Mingei based philosophy. I will be graduating this spring
with a degree in anthropology from Moorhead State University. I have
spent the last two years heavily entrenched in the ceramics studio here at
MSU. I am willing to relocate just about anywhere, but I would prefer to
live in an rural to semi-rural area.

If you have any suggestions or leads or questions please contact me
privately at woodc@mhd1.moorhead.msus.edu or by phone (218) 236-2631.

Thanks for your time!

Hello,
My name is Marita, I am 21 years old,and come from Norway.
The last two years I have been studying at secondary school, where I had
ceramics as my main subject.
I love working with the clay, especally throwing, and my goal is to become
really good at it.
There is so much I would like to learn about pottery!

In a couple of years I`m planning to take an examination to become a
journeyman. But I need more experience before I can do that.
Right now I would like to serve apprenticeship with a potter for a period
for about six months. Maybe in New Zealand or Australia, that would be very
interesting and an experience for life.

If you are interested, please contact me.

Yours sincerely

I've been thinking about this topic. Found this article at Studio Potter by
John Glick while scanning for kiln plans.

Dear Adam,

I am interested in the workshop. Please tell me a little more about the
program. It must, and dont be embarressed for confirming this, involve a
great amount of labor put in on other salable objects? Or is this an
educational opportunity that is really too good to be true?

Regards,

Mark Potter
