Figurative ceramic artist Arthur Gonzoles will be giving a workshop free and
open to the public, sponsored by the Florida Potters Guild (UF student
ceramics group). Arthur is a well-known artist who had shown at prestigeous
NYC art galleries, and is on the Ceramics faculty at California College of
Arts and Crafts in Oakland, CA.
Thurs. Apr. 4, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. with a potluck lunch with the artist from
noon to 1:30 pm. Ceramics area, Fine Arts C, ground floor, room 14 or 16.
Arthur will show slides at the JW Reitz Union (room next to the gallery) at
7:30 pm Thurs. "Tracking Personal Progress".
Friday Arthur will continue working in studio 9 am- 4 p.m. (although I
suspect he may take some afternoon time to do crits with the Potter Guild at
UF who brought him in).

Linda,
Please give Arthur my regards when he is there for your workshop. He was
recently at our school for an exhibition and 2 day workshop and it was
very inspirational. Aside from the fact that he is a lovely person, his
energy, enthusiasm, knowledge, talent, etc,etc...set a tone and pace for my
ceramic sculpture students which is still going strong. To any Clayart
folks in the area, I highly recommend this opportunity offered at UF!
