I got a bunch of easily cleanable plastic 55-gallon barrels from a
photographic processor at $10 each (beware the previous contents of
barrels, as resins are nigh impossible to clean and sometimes toxic). Stock
tanks I got from a local feed store, and not cheap, either! 2" PVC with
stainless-wrapped rubber makes a removable water-tight connection. Pump
from Northern Hydraulic at 800-556-7885-- pumps from them cost half the
local hardware store's prices.
I've been asking engineering friends about filtering systems, but so far
inconclusively ... question is how to make the end water cleaner ... now is
cleaner than the local Rio Grande, but that doesn't say much.
