awabi shell glaze

Hi All,

I have acquired a commercial glaze called "Awabi Shell" but have no
idea of its composition. I do know that it was sold through Cutter
ceramics in Portland, Maine but they are no longer in business. I
mixed it (with safety in mind as always) and tried it on a raku piece with
wonderful results. It produced a smooth, iridescent blue color. I
need to know what's in it before I use it use it again. If anyone knows
about this glaze, I would appreciate hearing from you.

Bowdoinham, Maine
where its cold and rainy today, but I'm looking forward to the sun.

jack,

a few years ago when i lived in portland, or., i purchased that glaze from
Georgie's. i don't have their tel. no. handy, but they have an 800 number
you could probably get by calling 1 800 555-1212, or just call portland
information. perhaps one of the portland clayarters will post the tel no
in reponse to this.

good luck.
