I was comforted when I learned how many people have basement studios. I
always imagine everyone else has a studio with beautiful views and loads
of equipment. Right now I have a studio in a first floor bedroom with
two windows. I have a shimpo, a slab roller and skutt kiln is in the
basement which I have to walk outside to get to. In the winter I shovel
the snow to get to the kiln. I rent my house and am grateful I have an
understanding landlord- this is a 175 year old house.
