beginners caution

updated fri 24 oct 97

Dan and Joanne Taylor on fri 3 oct 97

There is a lot of really good information and advice on Clayart from
very knowledgable people. There are also many rather interesting but
questionable opinions from well-meaning contributors. And that's fine.
That's what these kind of lists are all about. For those who have
worked with clay for some time may spot this "chaff" easily. However,
there are many beginners in this group and it must be very confusing at
times for them to know what is wheat and what is chaff. So, just a
caution to those are new to clay. "Tis not all wheat! Latest example is
the thread on the use of plaster bats. ;-)
