Hi Donald
Ouch!! I had bicep tendonitis back in '93 and am happy to report that it's
all gone. Went to a muscle specialist who prescribed some drug whose name I
can't remember. I think I got tendonitis from mousing around on the computer
too much (it's what I do for a living . . . heavy sigh), so I changed the
way I was working somewhat and took the pills until it got better.
Improvement was rapid, however, for months, maybe years afterward I still
had pain whenever I got sick or overly tired. Now I do yoga to ward off the
evil effects of too much work. The shoulder stand works great -

Hi Donald,
Just got an official diagnosis of bicep tendonitis this morning.
Indeed, it is very painful. I asked if a cortisone shot would help, but
the doc said that they don't like giving a shot in the tendon under the
shoulder because it sometimes splits the tendon causing the bicep to
drop and ball up like a baseball. The doc offered to surgically remove
some of the bone from the underside of the top shoulder bone so the
tendon would have more room. That sounded pretty drastic. So physical
therapy was the best option. They will do various electrical
stimulations and I don't know what else. I start Friday. I'll let you
know if anything helps. I am definitely open to suggestions and other
info. Keep me posted if you (or anyone else on the list) come up with
any ideas. Thanks, Sam
