This is a last-minute notice of a workshop in the San Francisco Bay
Area at the Civic Art Clay Studio E in Walnut Creek, CA. This
Saturday, October 4. I was requested to post it on Clayart in case
potters in our area have not received notice about it.
Rick Sherman
Steven Branfman, founder of the Potter's shop in Needham,
Massachusetts, will share his expertise in basic and more complex raku
firing techniques. Steven will also demonstrate throwing off the hump,
making large forms and platters, and texturing and surface treatment.
There will be a slide presentation and time for discussion.
Particpants are asked to bring a potluck dish to share. The workshop
is sponsored by Civic Arts Education of Walnut Creek and the
Association of Ceramic and Glass Artists of California. The studio is
located at 1313 Civic Drive, Walnut Creek. Fee: $45 ($40 for ACGA
