Hi,

Being a amatuer potter at best, it came apparent to me that I needed help
with developing glazes. I saw Roy Roy's C6 Glaze and software workshop on
Clayart at Canadore College in North Bay, Canada and thought I would give it
a try. I was more than pleased with the workshop and I have gained a lot of
knowledge in developing a durable glaze. We spent the entire week making
numerous glazes and using the software to determine the correct formulas.
This was a very inspiring and informative week.

I would like to second Barbara's comment. I knew next to nothing about
glazes but decided to take Ron Roy's class even though it meant a trip to
Canada. I had taken a "course" in glaze development at a craft center but
it mostly involved mixing line blends which the instructor calculated for
us and looking at the results. With the information Ron provided and access
to Tony Hansen's Insight software, I could now create my own line blends
and develop my own glaze making all the necessary adjustments in the
oxides.

I am looking forward to the next time I can be a part of one of these
classes. I still have a lot to learn but have a great start thanks to Ron.
