I am sorry if my message seemed redundant about the hazards of CdS.
However, I hadn't seen your post about not using the stuff at the point I
composed and sent that message. I am sorry if it annoyed you (or anyone
else).
The reply message in all caps certainly seemed to indicate that.
However, I think there is an issue here of how various people get the
CLAYART distribution that needs to be brought to the attention of all.
First of all, I have CLAYART set to "Digest" mode, because my e-mail
situation does not handle the gazillions of individual messages well.
SO........ I get all of the messages for a day bundled into one large group
at the END OF THE DAY. That results in a time lag of up to a full day (if
a message is posted just after the last digest was compiled) before the
message even gets bundled into the days' "Digest".
Add to that, the fact that the "Digest" has to come to me through the
Compuserve gateway before it gets into my mailbox. And CIS is not
notoriously speedy in this routing matter.
SO..... taking all that into account, I typically am reading messages that
are a day to a day and-a-half behind what those with a direct Internet
connection are currently looking at. I am sure I am not alone in this.
There are many on CLAYART with things set to "Digest" and who are on
commercial services like CIS, AOL, and Prodigy.
So if some "replys" to stuff on CLAYART (from me or others) seem a little
"out of step" with the latest hot posting zapped directly into mailboxes,
please have some patience and understanding about the real nature of this
communication method. It is not as "instantaneous" as we would like to
think.
