calcined gerstley borate adjustments

Any glaze gurus sitting at the keyboard instead of out in the shop?

If you calcine Gerstley Borate to just under it's predicted melting point
does it follow that you have driven off ALL of the chemically bound water
and therefore should reduce the amount of calcined GB used by the same % as
the water?

Meaning ... the Molecular weight of GB is 411.12 of which 90.1 comes from
the 5 water molecules. 90.1 is 21.9% of 411.12. Therefore I would assume I
should reduce the amount of calcined GB I would use by 21.9% as compared to
raw GB.

This makes sense to me, left to my own devices I'd just forge ahead but
since I have access to such a nifty pile of potters ... Am I on target or
off in the weeds?

Reading my Clayart digests sporadically, please e-mail any responses direct.
