Briefly --
As a result of events unrelated to conversations here (CLayart), I'm
toying modeling some glassy things and came across a book that will
interest anyone here who would like to learn more about the various
schemes put forward for calculating property-composition relationships
-- such as thermal expansion, elasticity, etc.

Milos Volf worked for 40 years with glass in what was then
Czechoslovakia. This volume combines essentially _all_ approaches to
making these calculations. Despite its heavy title, it's pretty readable
and the methods presented are capable of being mounted in any
spreadsheet program,
