The Mojave is the best of places and the worst of places. Bad times are
now upon us. The desert is cooking and we're outta' here. We've now,
for sure, decided to go north and will postpone the eastern trip for
awhile. Anybody have suggestions for Saskatchewan and Manitoba? We're
leaving tomorrow and will be without Clayart (breakin' my heart) for
sometime so if you've a mind to let us know of possible pottery
sightings, I'd be most appreciative. Never been to Saskat or Manitoba!
Can't wait! Would love to see some local pottery/potters!

Thanks for all the North Carolina and British Columbia info. They're in
their folders and will not go to waste.

Joyce
Looking forward to Prince Albert Park which I'd never heard of before
today and now it's very important for me to see those particular
boonies. (Not really the nut I might sound like but we're retired and
the rainy day is here!)

There are alot of potters in Saskatchewan. almost every village has one
but no many villages though....Meacham (60 miles east of Saskatoon ) has
three potters in town .and a gallery "THE HANDWAVE" with works of 20 potters.
Saskatoon :HANDMADE HOUSE ON Broadway-REGINA :TRADITIONS on 13th ave.
Prince albert:LITTLE GALLERY SHOP downtown mall.LAKELAND GALLERY on the way
to the park.some other to discover.you will see a sign on the highway
" a hand with a pot in it" it is for craft shops and studios open to the
public .quality is diverse.....
do not miss MEACHAM...I live there.

Well, after our visit last summer, I for one, have applied for
honorary citizenship in Canada and will welcome the invasion. Not
only that...they got somebody in charge!!!!

When I was 24 I lived a short time in Conneaut, OH on Lake Erie and the
PA state line....I worked as a waitress, barmaid, substitute teacher and
notions counter stocker for a legally blind lady named Madge and her
dirty white poodle (she did not see that Preeny was dirty) as we drove
the PA and OH countryside to mom and pop stores, oh, yeah, I gave guitar
lessons at the YWCA in Ashtabula OH in my spare time. During this
simultaneous period of employment while I filled the mails with resumes
for "career" jobs, I turned to Canada for relaxation and inspiration.

When I would get home from the tavern around 2:20 AM or 3 AM I would turn
on the TV ( no cable in 1974) and if the winds were right over the lake,
I would pick up a Canadian station. The program I looked forward to
opened with a hunky young man asleep bare shouldered with a gold chain
under a white sheet on a bed with an iron headboard. His clock radio
would light up and a sultry woman's voice with a decidedly French
Canadian accent would say " John-Paul....John-Paul......wake up.....wake
up, John- Paul". And he would turn and raise languidly up on one elbow
looking deep into my eyes ( the camera) and say in his own sultry
masculine French Canadian accent , " Oh.....it is you...." and then he
would smile. The next 30 minutes he would share ways for men to please
women and women to please men in the courting phase of relationships.

I have the GREATEST respect for Canadians.
