I've been off of CLAYART for a while and apparently I missed something.
What is a "car kiln"? Are you telling me that I can strip out, say, a VW
and turn it into a kiln? Radical! I like it!

Well, my old '73 VW van always did run hot. :-)
Seriously, a car kiln is a kiln where the floor, door, and ware stack move in
and out on wheels and a track. Not while it's firing, tho. ;-}

YES.... just make sure it is a VW so that it can survive all of the heat!!!
.... No not really... it is more or less a cart that rolls on rails into the
kiln... it allows you to load and unload the shelves, posts and pottery
onto a platform and then this loaded platform (the cart or car) can be
pushed gently inside the kiln for firing.... It really does save a
tremendous amount of wear and tear on your back and other body parts...
