centering arms

I use a centering arm I got from Miami Cork a few years ago. I love it. The
owner of Miami Cork has the patent on it. The ad says you can center over 50
lbs with it. I have not tried it *that* much but I do know I can center 15
lbs in a matter of seconds. Its about $125 but worth it. Its a simple
design, really. Its a concept the "old turners" used. And it comes with
instructions on how to convert it to use it to open that mound you just
centered.

You tell them which wheel you use and they make it to order. Your left hand
is on the clay, pressing down and the right hand is on the handle of the
centering arm, pressing to the left. It took a while to get the hang of it
but it really cut down on wrestling time and pail levels.

And, no, I am not affiliated with Miami Cork in any way other than I bought
this from them.

Hello Clayarters!
Miami Cork is no longer in business. Axner Pottery does carry a centering
arm for aprox. $65.00 and an opening arm for aprox. $100.00.
If anyone is interested in a Miami Cork arm you can e-mail me directly
and I can get in touch with the people who made the Miami Cork arm and
if the list is large enough they might be interested in making them up
to order.
