In October, I will be in northern China and would be grateful for
information about ceramics to be seen (both ancient and contemporary) and
the possibility of visiting potters' studios. The cities that I will be in
are: Beijing, Xinjiang, Shihezi, Chengdu, Leshan, Chongqing, Wuhan, Guiling, Xi
and Hongkong.

Stuart
Though this is not specifically about ceramics in northern China, I highly
recommend a thoroughly delightful and informative book called "Coming Home
Crazy" by Bill Holm. He is a "Minnesota boy" who also has very strong west
coast ties. He is an English professor, a writer, a musican and an all
around delightful human being. He spent a year in northern China teaching
at Xian University and traveling about. I guarantee his book will be a
wonderful source book for you in your upcoming adventure. Good luck and
bon voyage
