Hello Clayart friends,
Does anyone know of a good way to look up articles by subject in back issues
of Ceramics Monthly? On-line?. I don't have regular access to an art school
periodical index. I have looked around on the web to no avail. Thanks.

I don't know if this will work for you but try
telnet://portal.tamucc.edu:23
and log on as library. The database you want is first search. Sorry I
can't give good directions on how to use it. I have been able to
download full text from old CM articles.
Let me know if it works for you.

The Ceramic Monthly index from 1973 to 1993 is available in Hypercard
format (Mac!) from LRS Inc., 456 Locustfield Rd., E. Falmouth, MA 02536
(508-540-3738). It cost $24.95.

Patsy,
A resource that I use all the time is CMINDEX: Ceramics Monthly Index. It
is a computer program that has the titles and authors of articles going
back to '73. The Potter's Shop (617-449-7687) sells it, and with the
deep discounts that they offer it should be be around $15. It is well
worth it if you want to look things up quickly in Ceramics Monthly.
BTW, if you plan to order it you should call the Potter's Shop right
away. They have a great sale that ends in a day or two.
