Greetings from Ireland!
I am a young ceramicist with a Degree & Masters in Ceramics and am
currently teaching the subject in Ireland.
I've recently acquired a migration visa for Australia and will be
coming over to Sydney for a fact-finding mission on February 3rd for
10 days.
As you can see, I will be over for a short time but would very much
like to visit as many ceramics studios as possible in Sydney.
I am primarily interested in sculptural/studio/architectural
ceramics, but would also be interested in pottery studios.
If anyone on this list has any relevant information, please email me as outlined
below.
With many thanks,

I am a pottery student in the U.S. and plan to visit Ireland in May. I would
like to visit several potters while I'm in Ireland. Any suggestions? Susan

We found many potters around and between Dublin and Shannon. To me,
even the very tourist-conscious potters in the craft center near the
Shannon airport were worth visiting and generous in their responses to
my many questions. Besides the often mentioned potters, I also relished
visiting the Nicholas Moss pottery in Bennetsbridge just a few miles
from Kilkenny. It's located in an ancient family-owned-forever mill that
no longer functions as such, on the river Noire. It was off season (he
does an incredible tourist business in season with bus tours etc) and
his mom led just the two of us through their family museum of ancient
pots and chards found in the area. There's a lot of production work
going on, but wonderful bits and pieces of information and sights to
treasure.
