The Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach, Florida is pleased to
announce that it will host a Master Artists Workshop by Harvey Sadow
from March 10-14, 1997.
The workshop is titled "No Compromise With Gravity". This will
be a hands on workshop involving the use of the potter s wheel and/or
handbuilding techniques. It will deal with creative problem solving and
with the development of forming strategies including rethrowing,
hyperexpansion of wheel thrown forms, building forms by combining thrown
pieces and developing handbuilding strategies based on structural and
firing requirements. It will also consider the issue of form/surface
relationship. The goal of this workshop will be to increase the
ceramist s ability to actualize what he or she visualizes. In addition
to hands on work, the workshop will include lecture, demonstration,
slide shows and individual instruction. Tuition is $375.
Harvey Sadow is a studio artist working primarily with clay.
His work is represented in public collections including Boston s Museum
of Fine Arts, The High Museum of Art in Atlanta, The Everson Museum of
Art, The Museum of Ceramic Art at Alfred University, the World Bank and
The White House. Harvey has conducted lectures and workshops across the
United States and overseas.

Hi, for any of you interested I'm teaching a ceramics workshop at Texas Tech's campus in Junction Texas. Its a great spot over by a river. The workshop lasts three weeks and there will be a wood firing ,access to a salt kiln and a cone 10 gas.
