china study trip - help make it happen

The opportunity to live, travel, and work in China is an unforgettable
experience. I recommend it highly, and suggest that anyone with the interest try
to make it happen.
The cost - a bit over $4,000 - is a bargain, considering the depth of the
experience. Participants will get to work in a number of studios, besides
visiting a wide range of museums and cultural sites.
The November, '96 issue of _Ceramics Monthly_ magazine contains an edited
version of the article I submitted. It gives a good sense of why I chose to
be among last summer's group. Quite honestly it turned out to be the biggest
single dose of ceramics education I have ever received, and I strongly urge
anyone with a $4,000 car to sell it and go. You won't regret it. (Next year
your car will be worth less, but your experience in China will continue to
appreciate). Or make 400 $10 pots; easier than selling 10 @ $400.
Applications are being accepted for the 1997 China Study Trip sponsored by
West Virginia University and Alfred University. Write to Bob Anderson,
Division of Art, UWVA, Morgantown, WVA 26506 for a form.
