A friend has asked me about "paper clay" or "clay paper." If anyone knows
of this, would you send him info on it please? His name is Tom Leech and he
is a paper maker. His e-mail address is: Leech541@aol.com
Thank You,

In Japan, paper clay is made from clay and pulp.
(sometime add paste like CMC)
pulp is made from japanese traditional grass,KOUZO or MITSUMATA(long fiber).
mixing clay and puls with water and CMC
filtering on the shive in the manner of making paper
dry
It's just like paper.
you can treat just like as ORIGAMI.
After firing it seems paper.

Paper clay:
Tell you friend to purchase the book, "Paper Clay for Ceramic
Sculptors.' by Rosette Gault.
I was advised to buy this book(Hey, Tom Buck--I took your advice!)
when I asked the list if you can make your own paper clay. (Yes!
Instructions are in the book.) I got my copy from Seattle Pottery Supply.
Potter's Shop would probably get it for you if it isn't on their list.
