coating for fired pots

I recently had a "garbage can firing" with dried leaves, grass, straw,
manure, etc. It wasn't a lengthy firing as many of you have had, about
3 1/2 hours. I used bisqued raku clay. I was pleasantly surprised that
nothing cracked and I got some very interesting effects. Now that I have
these pieces is there anything I can use either on the inside or outside
to make them water tight? TIA laura@epix.net

P.S. Someone had suggested sprinkling some oxides on. I don't think I
got it hot enough because the oxides didn't do much. I had to rinse them
off after it was cooled down. Judging from the measurements we took I
don't think it was much about 850 degrees F.

I have used a sealer designed for tile grout. It can be pruchased at any
hardware/floor tile type store. Spray it liberally on the inside of a raku
pot and it holds water
