Hi folks,
I requested help finding a decent base glaze for cone 06 to add stains
to for pastel-colored results. I forgot to mention that this would be
for oxidation. As you can tell I am new to pottery and new to this
computer so am easily confused!!!
Thank you in advance for any insights. They would be greatly
appreciated. Annie

Annie- there are hundreds of cone 06 glazes that are either white or could
be opacified by addition of tin, titanium or zirconium. I am away from
home at the moment but will send you a formula for a Carlton Ball glaze
which is the best I know. It is opacified with titanium, which is less
stark than tin, and gives nice pastel colours too, but why dont you just
try some out of a book ? Every book giving lgaze formulae includes this
sort of glaze. George
