I had an overfire in an electric kiln and it's not worth $ to restore.
However, someone told me that I could probably convert to gas and use for
raku firing. Anyone know where/who to contact for something like this?

Check Steve Branfman's book, Raku: A Practical Approach.
Good description, pictures etc. on how to turn an electric into a raku kiln.
Good luck,
Keith

This was discussed recently. Harvey Sadow knows how to convert an old
electric to a ^10 R kiln (propane fired). Steve Branfman discusses how to
convert to a raku kiln in his book. Pamela Jo stamps@seasurf.com
