Hi all,
I'm about to make my first extruder dies, for bull-nose and cove tile pieces.
My question is about beveling the cuts so the clay is compressed as it
goes thru the die. Since the blanks I have are this birch pine the die
is pretty thick. Is there a particular angle that works best? I would
have tried in range of 15-25%. And is this kind of shape too complicated
for the thick die? Should I go to metal?
I'd appreciate talking to somebody who has experience cutting dies.
Thanks in advance.
