Last Friday and Saturday Jason Hess conducted a slide lecture and workshop
at our college. The lecture/demo coincided with a show of his work in our
ceramics gallery. The show will be up through September 21.
Jason is a very impressive young potter. His wood-fired and soda-fired
stoneware and porcelain is very accomplished and the workshop was quite
entertaining and informative.
The next exhibition in our gallery will be ^ 6 oxidation stoneware and ^ 6
salt-fired stoneware by David Gibson (Louisiana) and wood-fired stoneware by
Michael Miller (Louisiana). The dates are September 22 - October 19.
The college, a part of the Dallas County Community College District, is
located in the southern part of Dallas county in the town of Lancaster,
Texas. The gallery is located in E building (Fine Arts/Occupations) and is
open daily 8:00 am to 10:00 pm. If you're in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area stop
by and see the show.
