The Texas Pottery and Sculpture Guild in Fort Worth, Texas, is
sponsoring a hand-building workshop by Daphne Hatcher. Daphne and her
husband Gary are owners/operators of the Pine Mills Pottery in Mineola,
Texas. Daphne has studied ceramics at Texas Woman s University and the
University of North Texas and has apprenticed with Michael and David
Leach in England, Jean-Louis Gaudin in France, and Marcos of Siphnos in
Greece.
Workshop contents: Slide lecture with video; hand-building
demonstration (combination of hand building with throwing); glazing and
decorating techniques; and a discussion of kilns and firing.
Here s the details: Saturday, November 2, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at
the Ranch House at Lockheed-Martin Recreation Area, 3700 Bryant Irvin
Road, Fort Worth, Texas. The cost is $25 in advance (includes lunch) or
