Noticed the interest in decal making and the desire for people to get into
this exciting medium. If you take into account all the mass produced table
ware in the world it is probably the most used decorative system in
ceramics. Please ,for those just getting into the making of decals, be
warned that the mediums used are HIGHLY TOXIC and the correct safty
equipment is advised. That is, the cover coats and decal laquer contain
substances that produce fumes that can be very dangerous to your health, it
would be advisable to read about using 'benzine' before opening up cans of
covercoat and getting a good wiff.
Happy printing ,Ken

Thanks Ken for the warning. I must apologise for doing
the one thing I was protesting about and that is giving
advise without the safety warnings. I really must practise
what I preach.
Besides the fumes there are also various liquids that are
used for cleaning that need very careful handling with
gloves. Wearing a mask for the fumes is also not a bad
idea.
BTW I thought Australia was part of the Commonwealth.
Perhaps Ken is a repressed Republican, or is Hobart
capital of the Tasmanian Republic???
Thanks again Ken and apologies to the group for not
pointing out the safety hazards. Ralph in PE SA
