I bought an Ohaus scale in January. I purchased the Scout model SC6010
which weighs up to 600g with a precision of +/- .1g

I got it during a sale for just under $200. It's currently listed in the
Flinn Scientific catalog at $225. Flinn's number is 1-800-452-1261. I
love the digital scale, it make s weighing much faster since you can so
easily see when you're getting close to the amount you want. Taring is a
great feature as well.

The only hassle I had was ordering the scale. All the companies I called
would only sell to a school (they're worried about me buying to weigh out
drugs evidently). So, since my neighbor is a school teacher, he placed
the order.

Any science supplier has these scales available. You might try playing
one against the other price wise, I did (the sale was being offered by
Fisher but Flinn agreed to match the price). Fisher
1-800-955-1177 Nasco 1-800-558-9595. Try Nasco first, if I recall
correctly they didn't give me a hassle over selling to a non-teacher,
they just wouldn't negociate on price.

Good luck and happy weighing.

June,

I seem to remember an Ohaus triple beam scale advertised in the
brochure from American Science and Surplus (not sure this is correct name) .
They have a web page address: jarvis@sciplus.com you can check out. If it
is not advertised there, e-mail them and ask. The price was very good as I
remember.

As I said i would I have contacted Dharma Trading Co. (800)542-5227 to
check and see if they have any of the $69 reconditioned electronic scales
left. They have about a half dozen in stock and their source has dried up.
They say they may get a new source later on.
