display shelving for pottery

I am "racking" my brain for a shelf design to display pottery on. The
floor of the gallery is hardwood (cherry)... I will build the shelves
myself and I like the idea of a single ladder on each end of the shelves
for support. But the system must not be able to "rack" from side to side.
Perhaps I will put "feet", running length wise, on each ladder end to
prevent racking. Your comments and suggestions will be appreciated.

Marshall, I wish I could get George to sit down here - I'm just not sure
I understood his comments and questions re the shelves. He spoke of
frames and backs and wondered how open and flexible they actually need
to be. Could you get the open 'look' with a backing the color of your
walls? Does this help or do I need to really nag him to sit down and
write you himself?

I obviously didn't get to WBS...
