I fire in an electric kiln and bisque to cone 08. I have a project using
low-fire clay which matures at 06-04. Since maturation is a function of
temperature and time, I was hoping that 2 bisque firings to 08 would be
sufficient to get a reasonably hard end product. I do not have enough of
the objects to fill my kiln; hence my stab at improvisation.
I'll probably try the 2 bisque firings to see what I get visually, but I was
hoping some of you ceramic chemists or materials engineers out there could
put a scientific seal-of-approval on my idea.
Thanks. PhysClay in Bethesda. Hi to all my lurking friends like Peter and
Debbie and Claire and Loren.
