We have recently replaced our old electric kiln with a nice new one. I was
wondering what it takes to convert it to a gas kiln, and if this is
feasible?

Hi Marcy and all,
I have an old electric, the same size as the 4-level cylinder L&L I use,
that was being used as a raku kiln and I turned it into a downdraft and
fired stuff to cone 10 in it for awhile a long time ago. Used softbrick
and softbrick cement to add a downdraft flue right down one side of it,
cemented a sort of exhaust manifold on the outside that led to a chimney
that was brick for afew feet then just metal chimney sections. Used one
burner coming up thru the middle of the bottom. Pretty funky but it worked
and I fired alot of pots in it when I was first in Vermont and getting back
into the biz after the having-kid-moving-family hiatis.
