element staples (about l&l kilns)

The channel liners that L&L uses are not metalic, they are a
high-temperature ceramic material. Yes, most assuredly, they DO preserve
the soft brick, and especially by removing the need for staples. Also,
when the time comes for element replacement, they make it quite easy.

The only problem I had, in several years of use and several elements
changes, was when I was less than carefull with "spatters" that got into
the channel, from one cause or another. (Allright, it was from pots that
BURST). Even shards from cracked bisque can be a problem, because they
prevent the element from radiating, and therefore can cause a hot spot.
