I think the name of the kiln Ken was thinking of is EVEN HEAT. And I'm not
sure Mike Taylor sells them, but his number is (616) 751-5839. He is
located in Hamilton, MI just outside of Holland. Several of my potter
friends have Even Heats W/ compterized temp. ramping and lots of bells and
whistles. They love them.

Yes Mike Taylor of West Michigan Sells Evenheat kilns. That is where I
purchased my "perfect fire" with the electronic programer. I do love
it. With the regular perfect fire you can delay the start, program the
rate of increase w/ or w/out a hold cycle at the end, program by cone or
temperature and have a choice of "soft fire" at end of cycle (also w/ or
w/out hold). Soft fire means that the last 1000 or so take about twice
as long as usual. But, I wish I would have gotten the "ramp master"
controler for the extra $200-$300. With that programer, you could set
more than one rate of increase or decrease of temperature per hour.
Example: 1000/hr for 2hrs; hold for 4/hrs; 2500/hr for 6/hrs; 1000/hr
for the remainder.
Isn't that always the way it works?? Just get what you have always
wanted and then want something more/different!!!

For the best temperature controller you can buy in the whole world you
should contact FEKILN@IHUG.CO.NZ
I am using one for 8 years and I love it ,it's simply the best.
All you wish to do you can do with this controller. It has heaps of
safety features build in: broken probe protection, element burn out
protection, if you leave the probe out protection.
You can program 8 steps and program 10 different firings into the
memory which already has 12 programs build in.
You can even open and close a vent on top of your kiln to get rid of
the fumes then close it to keep the heat in and after the hold or soak
open the vent to cool the kiln down faster.
You could even start a second kiln, after the first is finished at
night when no one is present.
It resume firing after a power cut. It will even show the temperature
as where the kiln should be, so you can see if the kiln is slow or
fast. It can also control gas kilns, it has its own flame safety
input, also a oxy probe input. And you could connect it to
your PC. All you need in one box.
