Hi Julie,

Here is a way to make your Evenheat perfectfire mechanism run more like a
rampmaster.

Say you want the first 6 hours of the firing to proceed at 150 degrees an
hour. Set the rate at 150 degrees per hour and all of the other settings
(cone, soft-fire, etc.) the way you would for a normal firing. After six
hours go to the kiln (it should be at 900 degrees)and press the START
button. This will shut the kiln program off. Then go through and
reprogram the settings and change the rate to whatever new rate you want it
to be, say 200 degrees an hour. Press the start button again and the kiln
will start climbing up (from 900) at the new rate of 200 degrees per hour
that you just entered. You can slow down the firing at the end in the same
way. Any time you want to change the program just press the START button
and reprogram. You can really control the heat rise in this way. It's not
a rampmaster, but it is better than living with just one rate for the whole
firing.
