firebrick help needed

I have persuaded a friend that what she really needs in life is a
gaskiln. She can get 2nd hand firebrick(used for firing boxite)
at $34.00 per two hundred bricks.
She would like the actual firing chamber to be about 2x1x1.
The burning question is.......how many bricks (approx) will she need?
TIA

Dear Toni,
To figure the quantity use the dimension if fire bricks:
9" x4.5" by 2.25 height. But it seems a bit wasteful for such a small
kiln when firebricks absorb so much heat to get the chamber to
temperature. .17 cents a brick is a fine deal.
