Hi everybody,

I have a friend going to ethiopia to help the locals set up a
production pottery.
Apparently the only abundantly available fuel source is Diesel fuel.
We have looked at Olsens kiln book with the gravity drip, and burner
plates in ports. This may be an option.
i would like to know if any one out there knows of any other simple
type of burners that could be used utilizing diesel fuel. Any
suggestions would be helpful.

TIA, ed

Hi ed
I have some information for your friend. Here in our studio we use
2 oil burners since 22 years and we are very satisfied with them.
We bought these burners in England they are called Swirlamizer; they are 6 inch
long and we heat a kiln 80 cubic foot in 10 hours. The only thing you
need as well is a small compressor because the oil is sprayed. The air is
blown through the burner and mixed with the oil, it is very efficient.
We do not have the address of the compagny in England but through
Ceramic Review (english review) we are sure you can get the name of
the company and the address.
