Clayarters:

A few weeks ago I sent in a post requesting info on flashing slips.
Thanks to Dannon Rhudy, Ruth Ballou, and Bill Buckner for their replies.

I hope to try some of the recipe's soon. I'm doing a soda firing next week
and hope to have the first wood-fire in early December.

Another area that I would like to investigate is bisque crackle slip
decoration. I've done some research and have come up with the
following recipe's:

Fat White to Orange Crackle Slip

Borax 0.75
Zircopax 0.75
Custer Feldspar 3.00
Calcined Kaolin 3.00
EPK 2.25
OM4 Ball Clay 21.25
Flint 3.00

Bisque Crackle Slip

EPK 15.00
Ball Clay 15.00
Calcined Kaolin 20.00
Custer Feldspar 20.00
Flint 20.00
Zircopax 5.00
Borax 5.00

Does any one have experience with Bisque Crackle Slip? I tried the latter
recipe in a cone 11 reduction firing and didn't get too much crackle. Is
there a certain way to apply to encourage crackle? Please advise. TIA.
