The Florida Potters Guild (UF student Ceramics organization) is sponsoring a
workshop by MICHAEL CORNEY March 6 & 7 at University of Florida, Gainesville.
Michael is teaching spring concentration at Penland School. He's a
professional studio artist in Idaho, MFA from the prestigious Cranbrook
Academy of Art, noted for this work in porcelain. His drawn surfaces on his
vessels have personal, contemporary imagery. American Ceramics and American
Craft magazines have featured his work.
Workshop will foucs on his methods of construction and use of molds as well
as his unique surfacing methods.
Thursday March 6, 9-noon. Potluck lunch in studio. 1:30 - 4 pm.
Friday March 7, 9-noon.
Michael will lecture on his work and influences and show slides March 6,
Thursday, at 7:30 pm at the Harn Museum on the UF campus.

Susan Banks, figurative ceramic sculptor, faculty at Miami Dade Community
College, North, will present a one-day workshop Thursday March 20th from 10
am to 5 pm, with potluck lunch with the artist. She will lecture on her work
at 7:30 pm in 201 Fine Arts C.
Susan exhibits nationally and has been featured in Ceramics Monthly and
Ceramics, Art, and Perception magazines. She received her MFA from
University of Miami.
All events are open to the public and FREE!
