When i was in school, the kiln room had no ventilation. Sometimes I was
working in there and had strange things happen to my body, flu like
symptoms, pains, aches, while in the room. They started putting a cup
full of whiting, I think it was in the kiln for absorption. I later used
this method in a kiln in my home. The school finally agreed to put in a
ventilation system, I never bought one. I didn't stay in the room during
firing, but there was a definate improvement in the air using the
whiting. Has anyone else done this?
