I asked Phyllis Clark if she would like me to post information about the
registration for the 1997 Functional Ceramics Workshop. It will take place in
Wooster, Ohio at the Wayne Center for the Arts, April 9 - 12. She said yes, so
here it is:

Workshop Panelist:

RICHARD AERNI from Bloomfield, New York

Well known for his ash glazed, simple, but elegant forms, Richard will
demonstrate his techniques as he creates vessel forms. While creating
utilitarian pieces to used and enjoyed daily, he places a premium on good design
and craftsmanship. Ash glaze application on single fire pots will be discussed
as he demonstrates his method of application. After organizing and operating a
one person shop, in which he has made a living for 17 years, Richard has
garnered a wealth of information that he will share with you.
Aerni was featured in Ceramics Monthly, December 1994 and now after a
number of years on my workshop presenters wish list, it is my pleasure to
welcome him to the Wooster Workshop.

LINDA ARBUCKLE from Micanopy , Florida

Linda Arbuckle and majolica are synonymous to many people in the world of
clay, While demonstrating majolica materials and techniques, her presentation
will include discussion of form and surface. Slide lectures will explore
historic and contemporary majolica and decorated pottery.
Linda, successfully combines her position as Associate Professor of
Ceramics at the University of Florida, with the creation of her work, selected
workshops, numerous lectures, and a busy exhibition schedule. Ceramics Monthly,
March 1995, Studio Potter and the Studio Potter Network have also published her
work. Linda is a joy. I am delighted to bring her back to her home state and to
the 21st Wooster Workshop.

ALSO FEATURING
