Hi Everyone
I just got back from two wonderful days in San Diego. I spent the first
morning at SDSU (my old college) helping, actually more like watching,
Richard load up the kiln for a soda firing. Great works!!!! I wish that I
could have stuck around long enough for the unloading. But, I was off to the
beautiful town of La Jolla. The town that I plan on moving to, yea right,
once I win the lotto. Anyways, I enjoyed visiting the galleries, MOMA, and,
of course, the wonderful view of the ocean.
Next, the reason why you all care. Well, there is a wonderful little gallery,
Gallery Alexander, 7850 Girard Ave, La Jolla CA 92037 619-459-9433 Fax
619-459-0080 that is a definite must if your going to be in the San Diego
area. The show at the gallery is called TEAPOT 8 (eighth year) and it is a
delightful collection of teapots from artists all around the USA and Canada.
I managed to spend the better part of the afternoon looking at the many
styles and creative ways of designing teapots. I also revisited the gallery
the next day after a friend and I took a quick trip to Mexico. The show is
through August 24th and all the pots are for sale. The gallery hours are
Monday through Saturday 10 to 6 and Sunday 11 to 5.
Here are the names of some of the artists: Richard Swanson, John Goodheart,
Gina Freuen, Sam Taylor, Nancy Gardner, Laura Wilensky, Lisa Maher, Jean Y.
Hashitate, Randy Au, Pat Harvey, Marc and Victoria Sylvestre and many
more.........
Oh life is good in America's Finest City!!!!! Too Bad I live in the
Desert!!!!
Longing for my old life in SD but loving life anyways!!!!!!!!!
