getting bats back on wheel

The exchange on bats has been a "good-un" -- lots of great tips!

I really related to someone's describing what a pain it is to muscle big,
heavy bats back on to head-pins! Here's an idea that may help:

With a very good-quality permanent marker, make vertical marks on the outer
rim of your wheelhead(s) that line-up exactly with the location of the
head-pins. Align a ruler between the centers of the holes in each big bat,
and carefully mark the centerline location on the bats' outer edges (I mark
sink-cutouts and plaster bats as well as masonite bats).

Having reference marks on the bat and wheelhead takes at least SOME of the
"grope" out of the process!
