Thought I should qualify this a little by saying that an otherwise
balanced glaze is not rendered thixotropic by mild changes in soluble
alkali.
And to close.... I don't care who puts what in their glaze. Really.
However, it remains that the many problems noted here (and many other
places) related to the solublity of Ghastly Borate are easily remedied
by tossing out the Ghastly and replacing it with something stable. Using
this material is like putting a bald tire on your car -- sure it rolls
just fine -- for the time being. It might blow out, it might go flat, it
might roll tomorrow, but eventually it will cause serious
inconvienience, but, hey, it rolls.
