glaze frustration/disposal

Greetings,

Well, after yet another disappointing oxidation firing, I've decided to give
up-on my glazes at least. I'm not thrilled with my pre-mixed glazes to begin
with...and they don't even really work. They crawl, leave rough surfaces,
burn away completely, and/or are just too darn shiney and bright. A few
months ago I shared my woes about these purchased glazes with you all, and
many of you comiserated with me.

At any rate...I want to start mixing my own. At least I'll know where to
start if something needs to changed. My question is, how do I dispose of the
glazes I have? I probably have about a gallon each. They are non-toxic
glazes from one of the suppliers. I've thought about just mixing them all up
into a "stew" glaze. (Hey, they couldn't get much uglier!) Of course,
that's just my opinion...

I'd appreciate your input. I want to be plumbing and earth friendly.

TIA

Your local elementary or high school may want the gallons of the commercial
non-toxic glazes you don't want. Elementary grades (kindergarten through eight
grade) have a more stringent safety standard that will be noted on your
commercial glaze containers.
