glazebase request for celadons

Hi,

We have 980 glazes to go (my motto on this is '1000 by 2000')
so we're busy thinking up new strategies to make it easier, more
interesting, and more fun to submit glazes to the database.

One problem I've heard is that it's hard to decide what glaze
to submit to the database first. So we're going to try to focus
a little more by requesting a certain type of glaze each week.
(It will probably be more like two weeks, maybe even three, for
each glaze type, but "Glaze of the Week" sounds better than
"Glaze of the Fortnight.")

Anyway, our good friend Edouard Bastarache (who has submitted
over a dozen glazes already) has expressed an interest in
celadons. So, the "Glaze of the Week" this week (and next) is
Celadon. Both green and blue.

So pick a celadon you know and love, and we'll put together
our own little GlazeBase celadon collection. Of course, you are
*always* welcome to submit *any* glaze you want, celadon or not,
at any time.

We'll take suggestions for future "Glaze of the Week" glaze types;
we'll give more weight to your suggestion if you've submitted
glazes, or if you have glazes of the suggested type to submit.

To submit glazes to GlazeBase, and to see the glazes submitted
so far, visit the GlazeBase web page:
http://www.tiac.net/users/rjw/gbpage.htm

The submission process is pretty simple. You just have to answer
questions. If you have the recipe and a sample of the glaze on
hand while you fill out the form, it will only take 10-20 minutes.
Another great thing about filling out the form is that it really
helps you to look at your glaze more critically and think about it.
After you submit the glaze, you get a copy of the questions and
your answers back through email, so you can build your own glaze
notebook.

If you have trouble with the web form, there are other ways to
submit glazes to the database; check the web page above, or the
CeramicsWeb, or email me, for details.

I urge everyone who has been thinking about submitting a glaze to
just try it with one glaze, and see how it goes. Then send us your
comments, thoughts, feelings, complaints, whatever.
